This tutorial explains how to configure Firefox in order to use a proxy when navigating on the web.
This tutorial is intended for people who are using Firefox. We consider that the IP address of the proxy server is 192.168.1.4 and that the port number is 80.
In order to use a HTTP proxy with Firefox, you need to modify its options in order that it doesn't access directly to the web but uses a proxy.
Configuration of Firefox
- In Firefox – click on Tools – Options.
- Click on the Advanced tab and then click on the Network tab.
The following window is open:
- Click on the Settings button.
Then, change the parameters as follow:
- When the configuration is finished, click on Ok.
To test if the proxy is used by Firefox, you just need to browse a web page like for example: http://www.tutorielsenfolie.com/en/.
