This tutorial requires that Thunderbird is installed on your computer.

Add an RSS feed

To add a new RSS feed in Thunderbird, you need to add an account in the account settings. To do that:

  • Go to ToolsAccount Settings... ;
  • The window « Account Settings » is opened;
  • Click on « Account Actions »;
  • And choose « Add Other Account… »;

Thunderbird - Account Settings

The window « Account Wizard » is opened:

  • Select « Blogs & News Feeds »;
  • Click on « Next »;
  • Write the account name. For example, « RSS tutoriels en folies »;
  • Click on « Next »;

Thunderbird - Account Wizard

  • Click on the new account (here « RSS tutoriels en folies »);
  • Check « Check for new articles at startup »;
  • Click on « Manage Subscription »;

Thunderbird - Manage Subscription

The window « Feed properties » is opened:

Thunderbird - Feed properties

If you want toadd other pages to the RSS feed, you just need to click on the account name (here, « RSS tutoriels en folies »), add the RSS feed's URL and click on « Add ».

The RSS feed is now added to Thunderbird and it will be updated at every restart of the computer and every100 seconds.
